Leak Detection & Water Damage Liability Policy

Water filtration and treatment systems that are permanently installed in plumbing systems may present a risk of water leakage or property damage if improperly installed, maintained, monitored, or modified.

Water Service Elite strongly recommends the installation of automatic leak detection and water shutoff devices for all permanently installed water treatment systems.

Leak detection systems are designed to help reduce the risk of water damage but do not eliminate all risks.

Installation Responsibility

Unless Water Service Elite enters into a separate written installation agreement within the State of California, products purchased through this website are sold as equipment only.

Installation must be performed by a licensed plumbing professional in accordance with local plumbing codes and manufacturer installation guidelines.

Water Service Elite is not responsible for installation services, plumbing modifications, system configuration, or work performed by third-party installers or property owners.

Leak Detection Devices

Leak detection shutoff valves may be included or offered for installation projects performed directly by Water Service Elite.

If a customer declines installation of a leak detection device when installation services are provided by Water Service Elite, the customer may be required to sign a leak detection waiver acknowledging the risks associated with permanently installed water treatment systems.

Existing Leak Detection Systems

If a property contains an existing leak detection system or automatic shutoff device not installed by Water Service Elite, the company does not inspect, verify, monitor, maintain, or guarantee the functionality, monitoring status, connectivity, or maintenance of such systems.

Water Service Elite assumes no responsibility for the operation, failure, monitoring status, or maintenance of third-party leak detection systems.

Monitoring Responsibility

Leak detection devices may require active monitoring, maintenance, battery replacement, connectivity, and timely response to alerts.

Property owners are solely responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and responding to alerts generated by leak detection devices.

Water Service Elite is not responsible for damages resulting from failure to monitor or maintain leak detection systems.
